Agriculture is the basis of the survival of life on earth, as the produce from the occupation feeds everyone to survive further, but with the fading awareness we tend to overlook the larger picture. Food today is conceptualised in a variety of structures yet the basis or the origin has not changed. However there is no improvement in treasuring the essential core components of the agricultural food neither are any safety measures adopted safety to safeguard its existence.
In our fast paced lives we have a large share in consumption of the agricultural food but the ways to promote its growth are shrinking. As our priorities are deflected, we need to understand the importance of agricultural food in our well-being and accordingly structure as this segments impact the economy as well as survival quotient.
Role of Agriculture: This sector dominates the e economy of India as agriculture being the dominant occupation in India it is the largest producer, exporter of agricultural food which includes variety of spices, food grains like Jowar, Bajra, Rice etc. as well as cash crops like Tobacco, dried fruits like Cashew nuts, Almonds, Pistachios etc. and a variety of herbs which have medicinal properties.
The variety of agricultural food items exported, manufactured in India are consumed by a variety of industries across the globe which include pharmaceutical segment to make variety of medicines in the form of liquid medications, powdered etc. food and beverage industry as well as for personal consumption.
Employment: As the segment is diverse it has enormous work opportunities, thus from minor tasks like seeding, ploughing to feeding animals and maintaining crops by the use of pesticides jobs are available. However as literacy is not an important norm in this segment many are utilising their knowledge of primitive resources and taking to agriculture.
Economy: Moreover the sector plays a vital role in shaping the economy of the country and at large contributing largely towards the global economy. Today, however with the advanced technological aids easily available, farmers are given government aid and support and relevant education to enhance the revenue and production of agricultural food.
Organic food: Consuming food free from harmful pesticides is always superior in quality, so with the improving influence of organic agricultural food more and more advancement is happening and the complex process of cultivation is simplifying. And as the food is natural with no harmful pesticides it is rich in existence.
