Steam boilers are used in many industries to boil liquids and to create energy out of the steam produced. It is a vessel that boils the water and has exit points from where the steam goes out to another location, where it is further used for various applications. They are very effective in producing energy, but at the same time very dangerous. As this equipment deals with a lot of burning and boiling, safety should be the priority while handling this device. Firstly you need to understand that only a trained and competent person should be allowed to operate this device. He should have good knowledge about this equipment and should be prepared to handle all kinds of situations. 

Maintenance Tips 

Cleaning - Cleaning every device is very important. You should regularly clean the steam boiler. This will help in keeping the various parts of the equipments clean and intact. And will also prevent the machinery from any danger. When you clean the device, you should always see whether you find any leakages or damages in or around the machinery. If you find any, see that you immediately take some action to rectify the problems. 

Water Level – You should maintain the exact water level that is suggested by the manufacturer. In the past few years, it has been witnessed that most of the accidents happen because improper level of the water in the equipment. Hence, regularly check the level of water to avoid any kind of danger to the employees and people around. Improper water level will not just harm people but it will cause damage to the machinery. 

Regular Oiling - You need to see that all the working parts are oiled and cleaned regularly. The valves are the most important parts of this machinery. You need to oil them and maintain them properly, so that they can be easily opened and shut. 

Report – Just like people maintain a patient record, you need to maintain a machinery record. Note down all the incidents that happen with the equipment, when was the last time it got repaired? See that you record everything.
