Steel alloys are alloys of iron and other metals like zinc,
nickel, chromium and phosphate. These metals with the mix of steel make
different metals and each is having different properties. With these steel alloys,
many things are made which are used for different industrial purposes. Alloy
steel round bars are one of the varieties made from alloy steel. With the help
of state of the art technology, manufacturers are now able to make superior
quality of round bars. These steel rounds have strong hold and greater strength
due to which these are widely used for constructional purpose. Alloy steel
Round bars have excellent toughness, good strength, and ability to resist
stress at elevated temperature and have low wear and tear cost. There are two
types of steel rounds available in market:
Steel Round Corner Square: These are available in different sizes and shapes. These can be round or square shaped and are mostly used in aerospace, infrastructure, real estate, railways, petrochemicals, power generations and forgings etc.
· Steel Hexas: Hexas are small hexagonal shaped
steel rounds. These range till two inches long and come in different
dimensions. These are also used in fasteners, railways, auto components and
engineering etc.
These alloy steel rounds have relatively high harden ability
as chromium in the alloy gives it high hardness penetration and molybdenum
gives uniformity of high strength and hardness. This steel round goes well with
heat treatment and is relatively easy with machines having the annealed
conditions.
Another alloy used for round steel bars is carbon. They also
come in round, square, rectangle and in hexagonal shapes and are available in
hot rolled or cold drawn condition. Carbon steel round bars also come with zinc
coated surface as demanded by customers to increase their durability and
strength as zinc protects steel from external environment and make its life
longer.
