Pros and Cons of Industrial Alcohol that define its uses in various industries

Industrial Alcohol or Ethanol is the pure alcohol that is used in almost all the areas of different industries. Industrial alcohol is made either by fermentation or distillation and is highly useful and combustible product.

Industrial alcohol is used as a fuel in which ethanol is burnt to produce carbon dioxide and water which can be used as a fuel alone or can be mixed with gasoline or petrol. As ethanol can be easily produced by fermentation, it is now widely made by most of the countries where oil cannot be produced and thus reduce the import of oil from gulf countries and save the income of country.

Ethanol is also used as a solvent in many industries- cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, perfumes and other items. It is used as it has the property of dissolving many organic compounds that cannot be dissolved in water. Pure alcohol or ethanol with a mix of methanol is a less poisonous option for many industrial purposes. It is used as a fuel in marine applications in ultra light camping stoves.

Ethanol besides useful can be dangerous to human being. It can affect the central nervous system and can make human beings depressed. It can also affect the metabolism of human body and can lead liver damage. Digestion and heart problems can also be caused by excess intake of alcohol which is made by purifying ethanol only.

As said, excess of anything is bad for body or for whole society; even alcohol is not an exception. Ethanol is made to help in the development of society and it has to be used in a proper manner so that it does not lead to any kind of side effects. In product also, it is used in a calculated manner, increase in the dose can lead to serious health issues.
