Spices are truly called as the aroma
of India. Today, these have become flavor of almost every country and are
present in the food items there. Globally spices market is growing as countries
are adopting foods of different cultures and this reason makes the spices to
travel around the world.
Commonly used spices are cardamom,
chili, garlic, coriander, fenugreek, black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, kokum,
curry leaf, vanilla, mint, saffron and many others. Besides these, basic spices
are also there which are used purely. Manufactures are now also making mix of
these spices that give excellent and different taste to many recipes. Spices
like chicken masala, paneer gravy masala, pavbhaji masala, rasam powder, madras
curry powder, fish gravy, mutton mix, pulav masala are some of the mix spices
that are used which give almost exact flavors of the dish as they provide after
using raw spices.
Spices manufactures in India are now adopting new technologies and hygienic work system to
provide healthy and safe spices as most of the production is exported. Earlier
many scattered units used to produce the spices or these were mostly grinded at
homes as per the usage. Other than in food, spices are now used in perfumeries,
toiletries, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and in neutraceutical industry. International
market being very strict in the area of quality, pre-inspections is done to
check the value of spices. Agreements can be done so that no one gets cheated
and they get the value of their money. Even some boards are also made to check
the issue related to this industry and help in giving assistance by means of
technology, skilled labour, promotion and distribution, marketing strategies
and the overall development of the company. These are few measures through
which fair and healthy competition sustains in the market and this is ultimately
beneficial for the final customers, which is the goal of every company.
