Aluminum alloys and its practical usage in industries

Aluminium is a metal. An Alloy is a homogenous mixture of two or more metals or a metal and a non-metal in definite proportion. Aluminium alloys are used widely in the manufacture of aircrafts due to their high strength to weight ratio. They are also majorly in engineering structures. Apart from these industrial uses they are also used for common household utensils and appliances etc.Metals that are used for making these alloys include: manganese, copper, zinc, silicon and magnesium. Aluminium and its alloys are also widely used in the automotive sector. They are widely used for manufacturing vehicles and their parts. It is considered a great alternative for many of other metals. Hence from this we can understand that aluminium alloys have a great importance.

Aluminium is a metal that does not rust away on exposure to the exposure to the environment like other metals for example:steel. It is a metal that could be recycled hence it is of a great environmental benefit. It has sizeable scrap value. The most important thing to note is that it does not lose its properties on recycling. Hence it is a very important metal and has wide usage. Aluminium alloys are making their progress towards being a substitute for steel. Earlier it faced resistance but now due to the technical advancement it is towards making its way clear. It is said that more than 70% of the automotive aluminum can be sourced from recycled metal. These figures are given by Aluminum Association Inc. it is believed that this metal will also be extensively used in manufacturing electrical vehicles.

In the coming year’saluminum and its alloys will be extensively for various purposes in different sectors.

What factors to consider while buying generator sets?

Today almost every other industrial device functions with the help of electricity. So when electricity goes off imagine what would happen? Your entire work process may halt and this may cause a lot of damage to your organization. In order to avoid such situations you need to use generator sets. These are equipments that supply electric power for various activities. They are mainly used in places where there are frequent power cuts. Industries that deal with heavy machineries also use this equipment as they require a great amount of power to function. Due to all these reasons many people are investing in this equipment. This investment is totally worth it as it supports your industry in many ways. Some of them wish to buy this device but do not know how to buy it. There are certain factors that help you in buying the most appropriate generator sets.

Some of the factors are listed below:
  • The first thing that you need to consider is the fuel efficiency. As this equipment requires fuel all the time, you need to make sure you buy a fuel-efficient device which doesn’t have to be filled every time. As fuel is very expensive these days, buying a fuel-efficient one will also save your money. Not just this, sometimes fuel is in great demand, at such times it becomes very difficult for people to buy fuel. Hence, in order to avoid these entire problems, make sure you buy the most fuel-efficient device.
  • This device usually makes a lot of noise when it works. But you will also find equipments that don’t make much noise. So if your industry functions in a very silent environment you should buy these equipments that do not create much noise. You can look for the devices that have mufflers, as they help in the reduction of noise.
  • Make sure your generator set has a fuel indicator. This is will always inform you whenever you are running out of fuel. If you don’t have fuel, this equipment will stop working. Hence, it is important for you to know when to refill your equipment.

How to maintain Pneumatic Valves?

Pneumatic valves are well known across industries, so are used extensively in multiple applications. As they are used in low as well as high pressure and temperature environments, they are made from metals or plastic.

Aluminium is used to make pneumatic valve mostly as the metal is robust and has non-corrosive properties. Often even these valves are made by using cast alloys of aluminium for use in heavy duty applications. Plastic is also used sometimes to make these kinds of valves as it is cost efficient and be easily moulded.

The technological improvements make pneumatic valves ideal for different kinds of devices usually used in construction as well as while manufacturing machinery. They modify various operations easily and efficiently.

As they are subjected to complex processes and machinery, usually trained professionals only should deal with handling their maintenance. Pneumatic valves are used across various industries largely, hence maintaining them is very important. Simple and easy methods to maintain and clean pneumatic valves are listed below.

Some the basic procedures and their uses are elaborated below.

Filter: As these valves constantly come in contact with the various fine particulates and impurities in the air always clean the filters and replace when required. Recommended filters for efficient use are 5 micron filters. Also drain boards fitted within filters should be regularly drained or automatic draining system should be installed.

Lubricator: Check the lubricator as sometimes it may be puddle with access oils and other lubricants and affect the performance as well as health of complex processes and machines. Set lubricators to introduce one drop of oil per second for majority of the tasks and machinery.

Lubricants: Generally petrol based oils with oxidation inhibitors are used as they have light viscosity. Always avoid using oils and sedatives as they can harm valve components and seals. The ideal oils that are recommended for use are the ones which are specially made for air live servicing.

Cleaning: Always clean the interiors of valves to remove any accumulated dirt. To clean the dirt particulates stuck within the valves use ideal commercial solvents or kerosene. Avoid using detergents or abrasive materials while cleaning as they can starch valves. Lubricate surfaces of valves with grease regularly after cleaning them.

Replacement: It is not always required to replace valves as they are expensive, so replace and service worn out surfaces and spare parts often.

If you carefully follow the above mentioned tasks periodically, then maintaining and servicing pneumatic valves is easy.

When was the last time you complained about your pipe fitting? Well, did you manage to repair it? If you didn’t, then how long were you able to survive without it? The chance that you survived through the ordeal is a no. Pipe fittings are one of the most understated essentials in our daily lives. Whether in households or in industries, these are vital components for the smooth flow of life. One of the major reasons is that water or fluids are essential for our daily activities.

As in our bodies, our organs require the smooth flow of blood vessels to carry essential vitamins. Similarly, in any industry, it is essential to have good and well maintained pipe fittings for meeting all their production needs. Even in a small household, these components are necessary to ensure that all the needs of the day are met. If these components do not exist, it is impossible to imagine life functioning smoothly.

Until recently, this industry too saw a significant rise in production and growth. From the growth in the construction industry to the growth of the airline industry, the demand for pipe fittings is set to soar. With new inventions in the way these components are fitted, there seems to be a steady rise in the demand for these products in the engineering and construction industries. The use of stronger raw materials is one of the reasons for their success.

No matter which industry or which home, the need to install good and durable pipe fittings is present. It is ultimately dependent upon the technology being used and the manufacturer.
