India the second largest manufacturer of peanuts in the world

Peanuts cultivation is a major activity in the Indian subcontinent. After China, it is the second highest peanuts manufacturer of the world. Quality and taste wise, peanuts manufactured in India got more demand than the other countries.

Being one of the favorite snacks of the country, it is extensively cultivated across all parts of the country. These groundnuts can be eaten raw, boiled or dried and roasted. There are oil mills where the dried nuts are collected and processed to make edible oil. It is one of the cheapest cooking oils available for consumption.
Go any corner of India and find that there is no sign of groundnuts / peanuts. It’s quite impossible, the name changes from region to region, but the flavour remains same. At some food processing plants, these are roasted within controlled temperature to retain the flavour and salt with other spices is added to enhance the taste.
Roasted peanuts would be preserved for longer time. Various countries import peanuts from our country and there are few companies that buy it from wholesale distributors and export overseas.
Farmers make a minimal profit by selling the cultivation to wholesale buyers, but the consumers definitely pay a hefty amount to consume these peanuts, be it as oil or in processed and roasted form. Advanced technology and hybrid seeds are making more crops, whereas the pure and organic peanut is still the ruler of all.
Farmers need to be well educated in agriculture and protection of their crop from animals and insects. This would enable them to produce more groundnuts and sell with a good price in the market. Always the good crop values more, hence the need to utilize modern agriculture machinery and tools is becoming essential day by day.
