Plumbing fittings for multiple industries

Metal valves, taps and cock fittings are the most essential products in the plumbing and pipe fittings industry. These tools and accessories are used to supply and control the flow of liquid or gaseous substances through it.The proper specification of the valves and cock fittings are very important, in order to ensure that the adequate amount of chemical gases or liquids reach the machinery to carry out manufacturing, production or other industrial work.

There are different valves, taps and pipe fittings needed for distinct industry and production requirements
.
For example, tempering valves are utilized when,
  • A wet back is fitted with a new solid fuel heater.
  • When a new shower unit is installed, only the new fixture needs to be tempered, the other fixtures can also be easily tempered.
  • An existing solid fuel heater is fitted with a new wet back.
  • When a house is renovated and modified to be something else, than it previously used to be.
  • A new hot water cylinder supplying personal hygiene fixtures or appliances such as showers.
  • Bathroom renovations where showers are placed on new positions.
The mostly used types of metal taps are; pillar taps, mixer taps, bib taps, monobloc taps, lever taps and push taps, where as valves are gate valves, drain cocks, gate valves and lever valves.

A brief over view of the common plumbing fittings;

Stop cocks are used for incoming high pressure water mains, gate valves are meant for low pressure pipiwork. Bib taps are commonly mounted taps over sinks and outdoors.

Pipework draining is done using drain off cock, mixer taps deliver both cold and hot water through a single spout, just like the basin and bath outlets.

Pillar taps are used in sinks, baths and wash basins, whereas plug cock is a closing valve that closes quickly, like the gas installations. Radiator valves control the water to and from radiators.
