Organise: Read all manuals before you proceed to dissectyour vehicle. Be gentle as you may deal with small parts like bolts. Always have small polybags handy with labels to store them till you decide to replace the components you dissected and finish cleaning.
Cleaner: Choose your cleaners, solvents wisely as some can be corrosive in nature. Use a combination of luke warm water and soap for the initial rinse, then degrease the parts well by gentle scrubbing, then apply grease, which acts a lubricant.
Soak: Always soak parts in cleaners and use the rinse mentioned above. It is recommended to soak automobile parts for 15- 30 minutes in cleansing solutions, this gets the coating of the parts.
Scrub: There is not alternative to this, as scrubbing is the only way, all the spare parts become spotless free from sticky layers of dirt and grease. Always wear industrial gloves when scrubbing and use robust scrubbers to get the job done at once.
Wipe: Now that all the dirt is vanished, wipe the spare parts dry gently with a special cotton fabric which soaks all the moisture as well as adds lustre. Sometimes even polish paper is brushed to regain the lost shine.
