You might have visited many hotels and malls right? You love the ambience of such places and wish you could set the same in your own homes. So the answer is yes, you can surely set the right atmosphere for your house without struggling much. Wondering how? Don’t worry even if your furniture isn’t very new. You need to play it simple and smart by covering the furniture in the best way you can. Firstly you need to buy good cushion covers that will attract human eyes. That doesn’t mean you only have to choose bright colours, choose the colour that will suit the ambience of your house.

Many people are confused how to select cushion covers, as there are number of materials available today. The very famous materials used to make covers are silk, velvet, chenille, cotton, jute, polyesters, leather, etc. Leather, silk, velvet and chenille covers are very expensive, but they adorn your cushion better than any other material. So paying any amount for these materials is not a bad idea. Anyways, this method is better than buying new furniture at least. Many people like patchwork cushion covers; they adorn your homes and add a lot of elegance to the atmosphere.

There are certain things you need to consider while you go shopping for cushion covers. The important points are mentioned below:
  • Colours – The colour combination plays a vital role in patchwork covers, go for light colour prints or medium colour prints. These are always preferred than the bright coloured patchwork covers. Light colour decorations make your living room look a lot more spacious than it is.
  • Indian Touch – If you decide to go for patchwork, then an Indian touch to your covers is a must. Go for ‘zari’ work which is usually used in many saris. They not only suit saris but also any other materials used in your home decoration. You could also go for traditional embroidery work; they are extremely elegant and classy.
  • Material – The material of the cover is also very important. For occasional uses, you should go for velvet, silk and leather materials.
