Gear Motor- a Force Reduction Mechanism

Gear Motors are used to reduce force in any mechanical operation by series of connected gears. Gears are round in shape and have tooth. The main idea of gear motor is that it reduces direct force on machine and with low horsepower generates more energy or force.  Earlier gear motors used to be very complex in design and were even costly. But with the technical advancement, the gear motors are now much simpler and economical. This makes it useful in machineries that require high load shifting. The speed of gear motor is measured in Round per minute (RPMs) and is made with different RPMs for different usage. Generally, it ranges from 1200 to 3600 RPMs.

There are many types of gear motors classified according to their working. But main types are AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current) that are used for various purposes.

Gear motor can also be classified into small and big gear motor depending on its size. Small gear motor is having the properties of compactness, reliability, linear performance, strength, form factor, torque and ruggedness that make it more useful in many commercial applications- Pinball Machine, wall clocks, lifts, jacks, Auger Motors, Oil Skimmers, Fan Oscillators, Coin changing Equipment, Food Service Equipment, Damper Actuators, Label and Packaging Equipment, Vending Equipment and in many more machines.

Gear Motors are designed in such a way that they have to be used properly. Mishandling of gear motor can lead to accidents. It has to keep away from inflammable and from explosive atmosphere. It can lead of possible injury, electric shock, and breakage of device. Installation, storage and maintenance all are very important with regard to gear motor. That is the reason that GearMotor manufacturers in India are providing all possible services to their customers for various needs.
