Cosmetic products and the world of promises

In today’s Wifi-enabled world, we are the slaves of Cosmetic Products. In general we assume them to be just a product of temporary satisfaction for our various skin or hair care needs. cosmetics sometimes possess healing properties, without causing you any harm. Shall we start with the definition of a cosmetic? Well then it goes this way;

A preparation or substance solely intended to be used as a topical application across the external body parts of humans, in order to clean, change appearance, protect, correct body odour, keep them in good condition and perfume them.

The most common human body parts being pampered with cosmetic products are; hair, nails, lips, epidermis or the skin, teeth, external genital organs and the mucous membrane of the oral cavity.

Mostly cosmetic products that come into contact with the mucous membrane are shampoos and shower gels. They might come in contact with the mucous layer near eyes, lips, external genital organs and oral cavities.

Cosmetic products promise to highlight the good aspects of one’s facial appearance, reduce or hide the flaws and so on. There are several products for every body part and we are going to broadly categorize them as follows;

Creams, lotions, gels and emulsions with oils for the skin, face masks, make-up powders, hygienic powders, after bath powders, tinted bases, deodorant and toilet soaps, body sprays and perfumes, bath and shower preparations like foams, oils, gals and salts, depilatories, anti-wrinkle products, skin-whitening products, shaving creams, lotions and foams, hair straightening, waving, lotions and creams, oils, mouth and teeth care products, make-up removing products, make-up application solutions, shampoos and conditioners for hair are the leading ones.
