Mechanical seals need R&D for growth

Imagine the chemical industry without any fluid blocking systems. One of the basic components required for the smooth functioning of the processes within the industry is the mechanical seals. This system is the reason for the regular production of industrial chemicals required for the sustenance of other manufacturing industries. The success of the chemical industry is completely reliant upon the production of these fluid blocking systems.

Until recently, several plant operators used traditional methods of blocking the excessive flow of fluids. Due to the lack of standardization policies by the government, there is still a choice to implement mechanical seals in a plant. It should be mandatory due to the effectiveness and safety reasons. These components help any plant to sustain its operations without any unnecessary leakages.

In the present scenario, apart from the need for standardization policies, the government needs to help the industry in R&D. As most of the raw materials required for these systems are expensive and unreliable, the need for stronger metals is high. Most of the foreign competitors manufacturing these components constantly produce ancillary components with the strongest of metals. There is a need of stainless steel mechanical seals due to the durability of the metal.

Apart from producing fluid blockers with stainless steel, there is significant research that is required in terms of safety and cost reduction. Costs can be reduced drastically with the usage of cheaper yet stronger metals for the production of fluid blockers. With all these in mind, manufacturers of these ancillary components would find it profitable to meet the demands of the chemical industry.
