Guar Gum Powder

Guar Gum being one of the oldest gum is used for as edible and many other purposes. These are now being made in large quantities with clean and safe way to meet out the increasing demand. Guar Gum contains high amount of sugar and lactose and thus comes under the category of high molecular weight carbohydrate polymer.

Guar Gum that is made from a Guar Seed is known for high viscosity. This quality of guar gum itself makes it useful for many purposes. This mostly comes in powdered form. Guar Gum powder manufacturers are trying to provide good quality product that is elastic along with having viscosity and strength. Earlier, it was generally used as a thickening agent in food items like ice creams, custards and other eatable things but now it has many more industrial purposes. It is mostly used in drilling industry, where it serves as a resistance breaking agent for drilling devices. It is having the property of getting dissolved in cold water easily and it attains viscosity in a very less time. Hence, it is used almost by all drilling areas be it oil, water or other precious metals.

Besides drilling, guar gum is now used in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, explosives, paper, fish farming, bakery, carpet printing, hydro seeding, erosion control, mosquito coils, ceramic, paints, textile and in many other industries. Guar Gum has a thickening quality which makes all the products made from it to be good for use and increase its texture and shelf life.

India being the single largest producer of Guar Gum Powder, accounts for more than 80% of the total world output. The byproduct of guar gum which is known as guar meal is very high in protein content as compared to oil cakes and is used as a good resource for the animal feeding industry.
