Stainless Steel welded tubes and seamless tubes both have their importance and application in the industries all around the world. Welding tubes first come in origin for various purposes. These were made by welding different parts together and they had some problems which made the way for the invention of seamless tubes that are made without being welded and have great range of application than the welded ones.
But with the advancement in technology and improved metallurgy, new ways of welding got invented. These ways are much more advanced than the earlier one and its final product is cheaper than the seamless ones, it is again back in the demand. The other main advantage is its corrosion resistant property, narrower tolerance to wall thickness, internal surface that can be checked prior to manufacture, high strength, concentricity and almost 99% leakage and breakage proof. These qualities make it useful for many industries like pharmaceutical, oil and gas transmission, pulp and paper, chemical, for the conveyance of gas, liquids and semi-solid substances as well.
Well, there has always been a debate that which ones are better, welded or seamless tubes but it is a debate that has no result. Each technique has its own pros and cons and only user can decide what kind of tubes they have to use by seeing the material that has to be inside the tubes, pressure handling, its resistance and of course their budget. Stainless Steel welded tubes manufactures do operate some special kind of welding procedure for producing some custom made tubes. These procedures can be through heat input, filler metal, beveling and through interpass temperature. Another main reason why welding tubes are back in the industry is its non-destructive test procedure. Also, it is very fast, efficient and accepted method of testing all over the world.
