Understanding the Generator sets before you make the final purchase

The engine specifications for generator sets are of utmost significance, when you are determined to have the best power backup system for your home or industrial needs. The power consumption and output varies from generator to generator, as per the need and kind of generator set you install.

The general features of a generator set are; manufacturer, model, Emission compliance, type, cylinder head type, compression ratio. Piston type, bore, stroke, intake air method and crankshaft type. The lubrication system of a generator plays a very important role.It explains the oil pump type, crankcase capacity in litres and oil filter type.

The cooling system of a generator set explains fan type (pusher or anything else), cooling system type, fan speed, collant heater standard voltage and the wattage of coolant heater with the water pump flow.

The generator set’s genset vibration isolation, extended warranty and other related documents need to be maintained.

Time to time the oil needs to be replaced by professionals, in order to keep the genset running. The setup to auto-power on the generator need to be there, in case there are significant machines running round the clock and need constant power supply; like the server computers of banks and other important government and private organizations. These generators run with petrol or diesel and can light up an entire small town, excluding the use of Air Conditioners and other heavy equipment.

On the contrary larger generator set machines that are installed on corporates and residential complexes and business hubs are capable of running everything around the space. They are high power generators having more efficient power backup capacity than their counterparts. Both domestic and international brands of generators in India have their exposure.
