Uses and Types of Cranes

Infrastructure is one of the many segments, which influences industrial development and largely contributes to the economy. In order to construct a solid infrastructure robust raw material and specialised heavy duty machinery should be used.

Cranes are ideal tools and are the best in construction of households as well as commercial units. They also are ideal to carry and assemble heavy items or to dig the ground to ensure at robust base for initiating construction. As they are simple to operate and versatile they are used extensively and are economical on hire for performing various daily chores.

However as there is a wide range of these tools available, it is important to choose the appropriate crane that suits the task. Manufacturers of crane too pay great deal of attention in adding the details to the machines in the form of accessories, as every task is different and hence has unique individual demands.

With the specialised details available, exporters of cranes have also grown as most of the spare parts are quality checked and are graded with an ISO mark, which makes them popular among buyers.

These machines have carved a niche for themselves in the competitive industrial market by transforming to suit the demands of the varied industries and established prominence. Some of the basic kinds used are explained below with the specialised applications they perform.
  • Goliath: This kind of cranes is used specifically on docks to carry heavy loads of cargo containers easily. It is also used by engineers to build and construct-repair ships, metal cargo containers etc.
  • Low Headroom: The main purpose of these machines is to support the heavy loads. They are used widely on construction sites while designing skyscrapers and various kinds of innovative multi-storey buildings.
  • Headroom: Usually they are balancing above a construction site like a pendulum and work in co-ordination with low headroom cranes to support a structure from top as well as at the base.
