Pickling process of Stainless Steel

Pickling is the process of treating metal surface to remove impurities like rust, scales, dust, and inorganic contaminants which are made from different alloys mixed in steel like nickel, aluminum, copper and other alloying metals. It is done by dipping steel into a solution known as pickle liquor which contains strong acids. Steel is made by series of processes and in each process some kind of scratch or dust keeping adding to the steel which can decrease the quality of final product of steel. So to avoid that situations, pickling process is necessary for the strong, smooth and shining surface of stainless steel. The process is commonly used to clean steel at various production levels. Stainless steel comes with its own side effects as well. The waste of pickling process is very hazardous in nature that contains iron chloride, rinse water, waste acids and metallic salts which has to dispensed in a very protective manner otherwise it can create problems to surrounding environment or to human beings.

Hot Rolled Pickled Steel manufactures do take extra care to make these steels. Hot rolled pickled steel comes in a wide range of coil, plates and sheets with varieties of thickness and width levels. These steels further act as a raw material for many commercial applications, high strength constructional areas and in many in other engineering work requirement. Its other application includes tubing, automotive inner stamping parts, automotive wheels, rack and strapping.
Manufacturers in India are able to make the best quality steel as per the global standards with involving all these processes. But the basic worry lies with the harmful ingredients that the environment has to face. Many companies are taking measures but still they are not able to achieve 100% success in that. Seeing the growth of development and increasing number of industries, this environmental issue cannot be neglected.
