Cassia Tora Powder and its many applications

Cassia tora powder is that powder that is commonly used in food and other industries. It is a natural herb made from the seeds of Cassia Obtusifolio. It is also known as Cassia Gum Powder, Cassia Tora split or cassia gum split powder. Being a natural herb without having any side effects, this powder was earlier used for a remedial purpose to treat various ailments related to bacterial infection and also used as an effective agent against skin diseases. Its primary chemical composition includes gum, cinnamaldehyde, tannins, coumarins, mannitol, sugar, resin, mucilage and some essential oils. But in modern days, its usage has grown to other industries also, where it is used for many various functions. It is used as foam stabilizer, emulsifier, bonding agent, thickener, moisture retaining agent and texturing agent in deserts, cheese, frozen foods and in poultry products. They are also widely used in all meat products including sandwiches, appetizers, salad and frozen multi cuisine meat items. Cassia powder can be easily soluble in hot water and requires heating to become fully soluble for reaching full viscosity level in aqueous solutions. 

Other than its food application, cassia powder is also used in preparation of toiletries, cosmetics and cosmeceutical products. It is used mainly for making of capsules, gel, creams, paste, ointments, suppositories, pomades, anti-fungal foams, topical and non-topical pharmaceuticals and various eye products. Other than this, cassia powder has many more miscellaneous uses like in electrical and telephone cables, gem, ceramic, wallpapers, paints, battery electrolytes, incense sticks, fire fighting, water purifiers, mosquito coils and mats, printing inks, photography, water based paints, synthetic resin and in air fresheners. They are also widely used in coal mines, plaster, filtration, and concrete, concentration of ore, poultry, cattle and in pet foods.
