Some facts about Lightening Fire

Match boxes are primarily used for lightening the fire for different uses. Match boxes are in use since a long time and these are being made all around the country and the world. Match box is basically the box made of light wood or cardboards with friction strip at sides so that fire can be produced by rubbing the match sticks on it.

Matchbox manufacturing is a process of different series where soft wood or cardboards are purchased. The paper that has to be stuck on cardboards are printed and then affixed. These cardboards are cut into the size of matchboxes and then matchboxes are arranged in the shapes that we see in market. Finally the match sticks are filled in the boxes and the whole pack is packed into big boxes for better safety and handling.

Matchboxes are available in market in different sizes for both household and industrial purposes. These are safely produced and catch fire at one spark.

The first modern matchbox which is self igniting was invented in the year 1805. Earlier than this, glasses were used to ignite fire with focus towards sun. Matches that were earlier used were known as chemical matchboxes in which head of match stick consisted of mixture of rubber, sulfur, sugar and potassium chlorate. The fire used to get ignited when the match stick was dipped in bottle filled with sulfuric acid. But these kinds of matchboxes could not be produced at a large level and thus were limited to experiments and research centers only. For masses, it was still a dream to light a fire through match stick. Then in around mid of eighties, friction match sticks were invented which brought transformation in the industry.

Today matchbox manufacturers are able to produce matchboxes at a very large scale and now for every single use of igniting fire.
